The Soap Mine
Beddgelert, Snowdonia, North Wales
Vicki first made soap in 2009, and it soon became a hobby, which quickly turned into an obsession. The Soap Mine was born out of this soapy obsession and in 2012 Vicki took the plunge, made it all official and started to sell. At the time she was a stay at home mum to a two year old boy, living in Manchester and most of her soapmaking was done in the evenings when the little one was in bed. In 2013 her daughter arrived, and less than a year later she and her husband decided to escape to the country and moved home to North Wales. The Soap Mine is now based in Beddgelert, in the heart of Snowdonia making soaps using the traditional cold-process method with skin-loving plant based oils and butters. Handmade soap is better for your skin, better for the environment, and, because it lasts SO long, it’s better for your pocket too!
