About:

Meet Spicetrove: Saskia and Jill - a team of two Mums who are practising primary teachers. They both live in the Manchester area and met at work 7 years ago, becoming firm friends, sharing a love of fine food and sustainable artisan products. Over the years Saskia and Jill have spent a LOT of time discussing beautiful Indian fabrics, spice and ingredients! In November 2020, they took the plunge and finally set up Spicetrove. The concept is regional Indian curry kits with a difference. Every bag is lovingly upcycled from an individually sourced printed saree, meaning each one is unique. They try to make prominent features of the prints to make each bag interesting and a joy to receive. The kits are sustainable; Saskia and Jill have designed recipe cards (made from t-shirt off-cuts) in the style of old train luggage labels, and the bags and labels within are biodegradable. They just love working with the wonderful fabrics and the cornucopia of colour and have also spent a LOT of time perfecting some wonderful spice blends to make dishes from around India. Time is precious, spice it wisely!
